How it works

  1. 1

    Paste a public IMDb link

Open your watchlist (imdb.com/user/ur…/watchlist/) or a list (imdb.com/list/ls…) on IMDb and copy the address from your browser. Make sure it is set to public, or we cannot read it.

  2. 2

    Copy your two links

The same IMDb list always gives you the same two links, so you only have to set this up once.

  3. 3

Paste them into Radarr and Sonarr

In each app, add a list of its own kind (Radarr in Radarr, Sonarr in Sonarr) and paste the link as its Full URL. They check it every 15 and 5 minutes.

Questions

Is Watcharr free?

Yes. There is no paid tier and no payment anywhere in the app. The source is on GitHub, so you can also run your own copy for noncommercial use. It is a personal, noncommercial tool on purpose: IMDb’s own terms do not allow public or commercial use of its data.

Do I need an account to use Watcharr?

No. Paste a public IMDb watchlist or list URL and you get two links back straight away. They fill in on the list’s first read from IMDb, usually within a few minutes. Signing in only changes one thing: the list is then checked again about every fifteen minutes instead of staying on its first read.

How do I add an IMDb list to Radarr?

In Radarr, open Settings, then Lists, then Add List, and choose Radarr. Paste the Radarr link Watcharr made for your list as the Full URL, and type anything as the API Key: the list is public. Radarr then checks it every 15 minutes. The link comes from the IMDb list itself, so it never changes. On a computer you can skip this: drag Add to Radarr / Sonarr to your bookmarks bar and click it inside Radarr. An RSS List with the same link works too, but Radarr reads those only every 12 hours.

How do I add an IMDb list to Sonarr?

In Sonarr, open Settings, then Import Lists, then Add List, and choose Sonarr. Paste the Sonarr link Watcharr made as the Full URL, and type anything as the API Key. Sonarr then checks it every 5 minutes. It is a separate link from the Radarr one, because Sonarr adds shows by their TheTVDB id. The Add to Radarr / Sonarr bookmark does this for you too, clicked inside Sonarr. A Custom List with the same link works too, but Sonarr reads those only every 6 hours.

Why is a show missing from my Sonarr list?

Sonarr can only add shows that are listed on TheTVDB. Watcharr looks each show up on TVMaze and on TMDB to find it there. A show neither knows, usually one that was announced and never made, is left out rather than passed along broken, and it joins your link if it is ever listed.

Can my family share one Radarr link and one Sonarr link?

Yes. Sign in and make a feed from more than one IMDb list. It has one Radarr link and one Sonarr link, and you can add as many lists to it as you like. Share it with family or friends: once they open its join link and sign in, they add their own watchlists. Every list’s titles go into the same two links, a title on two lists only once, and each list is checked about every fifteen minutes. Anyone can take out the lists they added, and whoever made the feed can remove people or make a new join link.

How is this different from adding an IMDb list to Radarr or Sonarr directly?

Sonarr removed its built-in IMDb list import in 2025, and Radarr’s IMDb list import stopped working after IMDb changed its export format. Watcharr fills that gap: one pasted URL becomes a list your Radarr and your Sonarr read as if from another Radarr or Sonarr, every 15 and 5 minutes, and if a later read of the list fails, both keep serving the last good one.

Can I self-host Watcharr?

Yes, for noncommercial use. The code is on GitHub: a Cloudflare Worker with a D1 database, and a GitHub Actions job that reads the lists from IMDb. It cannot run offline, because the lists live on IMDb.

Why does a list I just pasted not show anything yet?

A new list is read from IMDb by a separate job, so it takes a moment, usually a minute or two. The page updates by itself when it lands. If it never does, the list is probably private on IMDb: make it public and paste it again.
